Soup of the day  v ~ freshly made and served with crisp crostini

Tempura Prawns ~ Atlantic king prawns in crisp batter with our secret dipping sauce

Rocket Salad ~ balsamic dressing, baby roasted tomatoes & fresh parmesan shavings

Homemade Black Pudding ~ hand made here in our kitchen served with Bramley apple & vanilla puree, Parma ham crisp & a small glass of Guinness

Oak Smoked Scottish Salmon ~ with caper salad & chive crème fraiche

Wild Mushroom Risotto v ~ delicious, creamy risotto with wild mushrooms, rocket & parmesan

 

Mains…

 

All our roast meats are served with homemade Yorkshire Puddings, proper gravy, roasties and a selection of fresh vegetables.

 

Rare Roasted Beef ~ grass fed, Yorkshire striploin courtesy of our friends at Sykes House Farm.  We do serve it rare as that’s how we like it.  If you’d like your beef cooking for a little longer please ask, it’s no trouble.  (there is an additional charge of £2.00 if you order beef).

Yorkshire Leg of Lamb ~ roasted pinkly with garlic, rosemary & wholegrain mustard

Traditionally Roasted Chicken ~ free range with fresh rosemary & thyme and served with chef’s special stuffing.

Roasted Loin of Pork ~ Crisp crackling with cider & apple confit and chef’s special stuffing!

Salmon Fillet ~ pan fried over mash with a creamy white wine sauce

Steak & Timothy Taylor’s Ale Pie ~ slowly braised chunks of prime beef, roasted root vegetables & mushrooms in a Timothy Taylor’s gravy, with a puff pastry lid, creamy mash & parsnip crisps

Fish & Chips ~ fresh Whitby haddock in our crisp beer batter with chunky chips, mushy peas, homemade tartare sauce & a light salad.
