All our food is handmade by our team of expert chef’s using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. We take particular pride in our Sunday Lunches. All our meat is sourced from the Yorkshire Dales and carefully roasted throughout the day. Our proper gravy is a week long process as we slowly and carefully prepare a blend of 3 different stocks before roasting our joints over a traditional trivet of caramelised vegetables which we blend with cabernet sauvignon & redcurrant jelly. Our potatoes are blanched and then slowly roasted in olive oil, garlic & rosemary. Our incredible Yorkshire Puddings are only ever made by Yorkshire folk (they don’t count otherwise) and you’ll struggle to find better ones anywhere!

Soup of the Day (v) ~ freshly made & served with a homemade soft roll
Creamy Brie (v) ~ baked until golden on the outside & gooey in the middle. Served with our homemade chutney
Chicken Liver Pate ~ with toasts, leaves & homemade chutney
Rocket Salad (v,gf) ~ honey & balsamic dressing, roasted tomatoes & parmesan
Tempura Prawns ~ freshly dressed leaves & our secret dipping sauce
Homemade Black Pudding ~ apple compote, Parma ham & Guinness
All our roast meats are served with our amazing Yorkshire Puddings, roasties, seasonal veg, mash & proper gravy. If you’d like more veg, roasties or gravy please just ask (dessert becomes compulsory if you have extra helpings)!!
Please be aware that while we try to judge the right amount of each joint to cook every Sunday, because we only ever use fresh ingredients we do sometimes run out of things, particularly later in the day. We’ll be very happy to save anything for you if you let us know what you’d like when you book your table.
Rare Roast Beef (£2.50 supplement) ~ the finest Yorkshire striploin, served very rare as that’s how it’s at the most succulent & tender. We will cook it more if you’d like but it’s not recommended
Traditionally Roasted Chicken ~ served with chef’s homemade sausage stuffing
Yorkshire Leg of Lamb ~ slowly roasted pink on a traditional trivet with wholegrain mustard
Roasted Loin of Pork ~ slowly roasted for a really crisp crackling & served with apple & cider compote
Beer Battered Whitby Haddock ~ with our really amazing chips, mushy peas & homemade tartare sauce
Aubergine & Leek Lasagne (v, gf) layers of creamy aubergine, mozzarella, leek, tomato sauce & béchamel, topped with parmesan. Served with chips & salad

Bangers & Mash ~ with gravy & a Yorkshire Pudding
Fresh Fish Pie ~ salmon & white fish in a creamy white wine & dill sauce topped with mash & smoked cheddar.
Pesto Baked Haddock (gf) ~ with dressed rocket, balsamic roasted tomatoes, fondant potato & toasted pine nuts
